The Road I Took 12/24/2011

Two paths emerged into my life
At crossroads bridge amidst some strife
One was clear, the other opaque
The left one bright, and right one faint.

Two voices I heard with varying words
As to which path might be the right place.
Twain tales were told, one soft and one bold
The left and the right side pleaded their case.

The left was known, safe and like home
Fenced with fear, but well lit and clear
The right was an abyss, yet dark with bliss
A road with no way, and hidden from day.

Jumping the fence I called my home
I decided to leap with faith and rome
The untrodden path that ascends into stars
The lights in the sky that mistakenly seemed far

When I left my house, things started going right
I embraced the moment with no struggle or fight
But the road that I took in the nook of the night
Was a path leading in, not a road leading right.

These are a sample of what I feel are some of the best poems I have written since 1998. All of them were inspired by Love. I hope they move and inspire as they did me when I wrote them ;-)
