MedUSA Reborn 12/26/2011
Lost daughter of Zeus Whence came your glory An Alexandrian Ruse Lost the real story The tale of the Gorgons was faulted and wrong Medusa their leader was exalted with song Her hair was black and sometimes braided Not made out of snakes like a myth that’s outdated Her eyebrows were peaceful like cattails near ponds With brown eyes to match like two magic wands Her golden bronzed skin was smooth, soft and clear And her two crimson hued cheeks often caught tears Her pearly white smile adorned with sunset red lips Melted the heavens and sent earth Elysian drips A rain from the heaven with manna sweetened drops That left a golden nectarous honey on early morning crops And all these features with a granduer beyond time A loveliness so profound as to turn water into wine It was her eyes that pulled the light of heaven to earth In her eyes great artistic inspirations were given birth In the eyes of fair Medusa lies a epic poem of many pages And belies the myth passed down through many earthly ages For in those twain brown lusterous spheres of grace That were set like sapphires amidst her heavenly face Was a magic so powerful as to turn the heavens with awe A spell so sweet that all the world came one and all For in those ancient days when many hearts were turned to stone Medusa’s ineffable beauty through her eyes didst shown And turned the hearts of Grecian throngs Into enlightened inspired cosmic songs Then one day, the great Perseus saught her out To save his sweet Persephone in a sickly bout She saw his greatness, an Olympian in the land of Greece He awed weightless, as her sight made him light with peace So entranced by her beauty, the warrior became a poet With hours in solitude no one didst know it It was not the head of medusa that turned a sea beast to stone It was the eyes of a muse whose love from heaven didst shone Her Immortal beauty is revealed again Born of the heavens with Apollonian pen With a purpose burning in her heart To help those suffering with healing arts But as before it was not her skills that healed But a love so pure as to make heaven revealed And once again she turns hardened hearts into amore For the deepest healing is the feeling a gods’ glory Add Comment | AuthorThese are a sample of what I feel are some of the best poems I have written since 1998. All of them were inspired by Love. I hope they move and inspire as they did me when I wrote them ;-) ArchivesCategoriesAll |
